Urgent PC and registration renewal update

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has announced that the online renewals process for practising certificates and registrations is being rolled out in two phases, depending on the name of the individual or firm.
 
You have been allocated to bands A–D and E–Z according to the first-occurring letter in your full name (if you are renewing your own certificate or registration) or your firm name (if your firm is renewing on your behalf).

For firms / individuals in bands A-D (e.g. Claire Smith, AN Other and Associates), online registration opened on 20 December 2011 and will close on 13 February 2012.

For firms / individuals in bands E-Z (e.g. John Smith, The University of Dorset, 4Star), registration will open on 5 January 2012 and will close on 21 February 2012.

All firms / individuals must activate their mySRA account by 13 January 2012.

The SRA has apologised for the delays, but has said it belives that the phased approach will maximise the smooth running of the system.
