Land Registry launches e-conveyancing consultation

On 22 March 2010, Land Registry launches the third consultation on its proposals for electronic conveyancing (e-conveyancing).

Land Registry has been developing its e-conveyancing proposals since 2007 and during this time drafting the secondary legislation required to give effect to the provisions contained in the Land Registration Act 2002.

This paper is the third part of our consultation on the secondary legislation required to support the operation of an e-conveyancing system. It contains our proposals for The Land Registration (Electronic Conveyancing) Rules 2011.

Land Registry remains totally committed to the overarching aim of the e-conveyancing programme, which has always been to make conveyancing easier, with an electronic system that makes buying and selling property less stressful for all concerned.

The consultation closes on Friday 25 June 2010, and Land Registry invites you to provide your views and comments on its proposals.
